Dog friendly? Yes, but only outside.
The Queens Head is a brilliant pub, but certainly not a boaters pub. We had no choice but to shuffle in (slightly covered in mud, thanks hireboaters) and dripping wet from the walk over (was still raining!) and felt immediately scruffy. Most patrons were well dressed and a fair few drinks in by 8pm. The waiting staff are lovely, and went out of their way to squeeze the two of us in even without a booking. The food was amazing!
Overall view: if you’re looking for a posh gastropub (and you’ve packed a few nice clothes) the Queens Head is a great place to head for lovely food and a broad menu to suit all fancies, after (or before) dealing with the Tardebigge flight. I would be less inclined to head there for a casual pint, however, and you’d be very unlikely to be able to strike up conversation about boats with anyone at the bar!
